Welcome to Regis College! On behalf of Academic Advising, I am pleased to share information to help you prepare for your Advising & Course Selection (ACS) appointment, where you will work with an advisor to review class options for your Fall 2025 course schedule. Zoom and on-campus ACS appointments are scheduled during selected weeks from April through August.

All students, including those who have taken AP exams and/or dual enrollment courses, are required to complete a math placement test that will assist you and your advisor during your appointment to determine the math course you might take your first year. Once the math test is completed, you will receive access to a link enabling you to sign up for an ACS appointment. Students are also required to complete a writing assessment. Students should complete both tests as soon as possible but we recommend completing the math placement test first as that test opens the link for the ACS appointment signup.

Math Placement Test:

Regis offers a wide variety of math courses, from Quantitative Reasoning to Statistics and Calculus. Since everyone's previous math experience is different, Regis designed a placement test to choose the best math courses to meet your needs. This test, combined with other measures, such as your intended major, will help you and your advisor to choose the math course that is the best fit for you.

Writing Placement Test:

Regis designed a writing assessment: a short essay (3-5 paragraphs) based on a brief reading. This will help your first-year writing instructor in creating a learning experience that can set you up for success.

Next Steps:

You should have received a Regis login ID and password information via email from the Regis Information Technology Services (ITS) Helpdesk for your Regis email and Moodle, the online site for all of your classes. You can sign in at moodle.regiscollege.edu using your newly created Regis user name (e.g. abcd123) and your password. After you access Moodle, select the course entitled Math & Writing Placement Fall 2025. Once you are in the placement course on Moodle, you will need to complete four tasks in order:

  • Take the tutorial quiz to familiarize yourself with Moodle.
  • Certify that your work on these placements is your own.
  • Review the math study guide.
  • Click on and complete the math and writing assignments. They may be completed in any order but we strongly recommend you complete the math placement test first.

The Moodle page contains more instructions regarding the timing of the math test and the prompt for the writing assessment.

If you have any technical questions about accessing Moodle or the placement course, please contact the ITS Helpdesk at 781.768.7177 or via email at helpdesk@regiscollege.edu. We look forward to meeting you soon!

Sincerely,
